| Alex Ferguson Wants Ronaldo And Rooney To Show Their Class Tonight |
Sir Alex Ferguson has promised there is no chance of Manchester United underestimating AS Roma in their Champions League quarter-final tonight. Roma well behind Inter Milan in the battle for Serie A and the Italian game in general. Ferguson admits the duo were somewhat out of their depth when Manchester United faced Milan in the UEFA Champions League two seasons ago, but he believes they have come of age since and are now ready to lead Manchester United into the semi-finals.“We haven’t scored a lot of goals in Europe in the last few years, maybe it's just young players adapting to the Champions League. "When we played Milan a couple of years ago Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo lacked the experience to handle it," said Fergie . "The two years have made such a difference to players like them. Then they were young boys, now they are maturing all the time". “We haven’t scored a lot of goals in Europe in the last few years,” he said. “Maybe it's just young players adapting to the Champions League. "But I don't have an issue with either of them. Wayne's contribution has been very good, while I believe Cristiano is the best player in the world just now." |
