| United Are Better |
Boss MilanCarlo Ancelotti admits United pose a greater threat than when his side knocked the Reds out of the Champions League two seasons ago. United were beaten 1-0 twice in the 2004/05 second round, but Ancelotti admits the Reds are a different proposition with their subsequent maturation. "They have different qualities from Bayern, but we beat them twice two years ago and have the small advantage of playing the second leg on home turf.“They have got some more experience into their best players like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. They have the same approach as back then, but with more quality now.”“Manchester United are a strong side, but at this stage we are happy to be facing them, as we certainly had less of a chance of going through than Bayern going into the second leg.” Milan manager Gandini admits Milan have great respect for United, but says the Rossoneri will approach the semi-final in bullish mood. "We are confident going into the semi-final," Gandini told Sky Sports News. "Man United is one of the best European clubs in history and one of the best playing now. "They showed us how strong they are. We know them very well, we have a great relationship with the club and the fans and we have strong and special memories of Old Trafford because of the final in 2003. "Manchester United are one of the best clubs. They are young and physical and play technically very well and have fantastic players like Ronaldo, Rooney and the never-ending Giggs and Sir Alex on the bench. |
