| United Must Show Mettle |
| Sir Alex Ferguson has called squad to 'show their mettle' in the Premiership title race after slipping up to Portsmouth. With United now just three points ahead - and with a trip to Stamford Bridge still to come - the season has truly entered what Ferguson once famously described as 'squeaky bum time'. "I won't complain about losing to Portsmouth on Saturday but the main thing now is to recover and show our mettle," said Ferguson in The Sun. United have six league games to play but two big cup ties before that and the 10-day break for those league matches has come at a great time for United. Now Chelsea away is a very important for United, Gary Neville could return for the club's next league outing against Sheffield United on 17th April as the right-back is making progress in his recovery from ankle ligament damage. The French striker, Louis Saha will be on the bench for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League quarter-final, second leg against Roma. |
